Our Mission at Josie’s Misfit Ranch is to rescue animals wounded in body and spirit, find them caring forever homes, and improve the relationship between humans and animals through education, advocacy and compassion.

Since we started taking in animals in April 2022, we have saved more than 200 dogs and cats - many who were at risk for euthanasia without our help. And we’ve found more than 140 of these animals amazing forever homes, carefully pairing them with the right humans so they can live their best lives.

Because we deal with misfits - the broken, sick and traumatized animals who many have given up on - our costs are high. In 2024 we spent almost $100,000 on vet bills, as well as thousands more on training and rehabilitation. Our sponsors make it possible for us to give these animals the very best chance for a good life.
