Why We Need Your Help

In June alone, we spent more than $20,000 on emergency veterinary care and specialized behavioral training for animals who would not have survived—let alone find loving homes—without these lifesaving interventions.

Some needed emergency surgeries.
Others require months of rehabilitation.
Several needed intensive professional training to overcome severe fear, anxiety, or trauma before they could safely become part of a family.

These aren't "extras." They are the difference between life and death.

Our Goal: Raise $10,000 in 10 Days

We need your help to replenish our medical and training fund so we can continue saying "yes" to the next animal with nowhere else to turn.

Every gift makes an immediate impact.

  • $25 helps provide medications or vaccines.

  • $50 helps cover a veterinary exam or training supplies.

  • $100 helps pay for diagnostic testing or a behavioral training session.

  • $250 helps sponsor emergency medical treatment.

  • $500+ helps save a life that otherwise might not have a chance.

No amount is too small. Together, thousands of small acts of kindness become lifesaving care.

HELP SAVE THE MISFITS

They were told they weren't worth saving.

We proved them wrong.

Josie's Misfit Ranch says "yes" to animals that other shelters and rescues simply can't take. They arrive broken in body, spirit, or both—victims of abuse, neglect, abandonment, severe medical conditions, or heartbreaking behavioral trauma.

They're the misfits.

And they deserve someone who believes in who they can become. But we can’t help them without you. Give now to support emergency medical and training care.

Meet Some of the Misfits You’re Saving

Aggressive Vet Care and Love Saved 11 Out of 16 Kittens with Panleukopenia

We had 3 litters of kittens and their mammas come to us as strays. They all contracted panleukopenia, a deadly and extremely contagious virus that kills 90 percent of kittens that aren’t treated and 60 percent who are. Our veterinary partners and volunteers worked around the clock to help these babies - and we were able to save 11 of 16 - a much higher survival rate than normal. Your donation will help us pay for the care that saved their lives.

From Parvo to Orthopedic Surgery, Boltz is a Survivor with a Big Heart

Boltz is a young dog who has already been through much, including surviving Parvo. He’s been in our care in a loving foster home for over a year, but recently was found to have knee issues that can happen as a result of parvo which targets bone marrow and can also hinder proper development. He is still recovering from his first surgery and will need another for his other leg soon. Your donation will help him run and play again like a normal dog.

Abuse Gave Her a Seizure Disorder, But She Now Finds Joy in Family

Zara has been in our care over a year as a sanctuary dog due to a seizure disorder. She came to us from the Humane Society after being found emaciated in a kennel filled with her own feces and with open wounds. We believe the seizures are a direct cause of her abuse which included physical head trauma, malnutrition, and severe emotional stress. Your donation will help us continue to help Zara get treatment and live life safe and happy.

Saved from Euthanasia, Now Training to be a Therapy Dog

Hugene’s owner passed away unexpectedly. Her family had run out of options for him, due to his size and fear aggression and scheduled him to be euthanized. We stepped in hours before his appointment and sent him for rehabilitation at our friends at Hounds from Hell Dog Training. There, he has learned structure and confidence. He has done so well, he may become a therapy dog! Your donation will help him continue to thrive.

Voted Best Non-Profit Organization in Kittitas County 3 years in a row!

Josie’s Misfit Ranch is an approved 501(c)3 foster home based rescue that cares and advocates for misfit animals in Kittitas County and surrounding areas. “Misfit” animals are wounded in body or spirit who have been discarded, mistreated or ignored because they are considered less than “perfect.” We show these animals the love and compassion they deserve, build their confidence, and celebrate all they can do instead of focusing on what they can’t.

Meet Josie’s Misfit Gang

Our primary goal is to provide medical care, foster care and training to “misfit” animals – those who have behavior problems, or physical limitations – and who have been mistreated, discarded or ignored. These animals are at a greater risk of being euthanized as they are often overlooked by potential adopters. We help them heal, and ultimately find them forever homes where they are loved and valued.

Our vision at Josie’s Misfit Ranch is to create a community where all animals are well-cared for and loved.

Feed a dog for a month!

Many of the misfits that come to the ranch have not had regular and nutritious meals, or have conditions that require special food. We research all the dog food we give our Misfits to make sure it is of the highest quality and has no history of recalls or concerns, so they can feel and look their best.
