At JMR, we believe all dogs are special and capable of great things. Even when we take in disabled or troubled animals, we celebrate what they can do instead of focusing on what they can’t. They teach us so much about perseverance and living their best life!

Dachshunds & Friends on Parade is a place to celebrate all dogs and put them in the spotlight. Started as a Dachshund-only event, we expanded it to include other breeds. But of course we still have the beloved Dachshund races because nothing is more fun than watching a wiener dog sprint for glory!

This family-fun event will feature training demos, dog-friendly vendors, animal education and some celebrity dog guests. Plus, in addition to our popular races, costume contest and dog trick categories, we’ve added some other fun contests based on the American Rescue Dog Show:

Best Couch Potato: Does your dog lounge like no other? We will have a couch where they can demonstrate just how relaxed they can be!

Best Ears: If your dog’s ears are long, tall, wide, or just adorable, enter them in our Best Ears category and get ready to hear the applause!

Best Wiggle Butt: Does your dog shake it like a polaroid picture? Show off their moves in a tail-wagging, bootie-shaking contest!

Best Talker: Your dog has a lot to say. Let them talk to our judges to see who has the best vocal prowess.

Best Belly Rubs: If your dog has no shame when it comes to assuming the position, this is where their neediness can pay off!

Best in Special Needs: Dogs with special needs don’t know they are different from other dogs and just want to live their best life. This category celebrates all that makes them special!

Best Senior: While their muzzles may be gray, they still are young at heart. Tell us why your senior dog is the best!
